Lee Lewis

Lee Lewis joins us for this episode of 15:14 to discuss his experience serving in a variety of ministry settings and locations. Lee is a BCC Council member and a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors. He and his family live in Austin, Texas, where he is Pastor of Soul Care Ministries at Radiant Church while also serving as a consultant for Soul Care Consulting. The previous three years were spent in Canada, where Lee was the Pastor of Biblical Soul Care for Harvest Bible Chapel in Muskoka. During that time, he also served in a directing/consulting role for a church plant network in Ontario. Before that, he served as a pastor at The Village Church for nearly 10 years. Lee is married to Andrea, and they have four children, Luke, Abel, Leah, and Miriam.

Dr. Robert Cheong

Robert Cheong is the Pastor of Care at Sojourn Church Midtown in Louisville, KY. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and his MDiv and PhD from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Cheong has a passion for equipping ministry leaders and church members to disciple and care for one another in community. Dr. Mack was chairman of the graduate and undergraduate counseling programs at The Master’s University and Seminary in Los Angeles, California. He serves as an Elder at Lynnwood Baptist Church in Pretoria, South Africa, and is the Director of ACBC Africa. Dr. Mack has been inducted into the highest level of membership in the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and has authored 27 books on counseling issues. Wayne has been married to his wife, Carol, since 1957. They have four adult children, three daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, and many grandchildren. Amy Baker: Caring for the Souls of Children

BCC Council member Dr. Amy Baker is the ministry resource director at Faith Ministries and has served on the counseling staff at Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries for over 20 years. Dr. Baker contributed to and edited the recently released book Caring for the Souls of Children. Sacha Mendes: the History of the BCC

Sacha Mendes is the first international member of the BCC Board of Directors. He currently serves as a senior pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church in Sao Jose dos Campos and is a leader of the Brazilian Association of Biblical Counselors. Garrett Higbee: the History of the BCC

Garrett Higbee is the pastor of biblical soul care at Harvest Church North Indianapolis, director of pastoral care for the Great Commission Collective, and founder of Soul Care Consulting. He is also the president and co-founder of Twelve Stones Ministries in Brown County, Indiana. Dr. Higbee was a founding member of the BCC Council and served as the second executive director of the ministry. He joins us on this episode of 15:14 to reflect on his time with the BCC.

Deepak Reju: the History of the BCC

Deepak Reju is an associate pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, where he oversees the biblical counseling and family ministries. He is the author and editor of many biblical counseling books and serves on the Board of Directors of the BCC. Randy Patten: the History of the BCC

November 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. To help us celebrate, we are interviewing a few people who have played key roles in the ministry. Randy Patten joins us for today’s episode to share his experience with the BCC. He explains why he supported its creation and continues to support the ministry as a member of the Board of Directors. Randy was the longest-serving Executive Director of The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) when it was known as the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) and served as a pastor for many years. He now leads TEAM Focus Ministries, a discipleship coaching organization.
