Tim St. John

Tim St. John is a Member of the BCC Council and serves as the counseling pastor at Lighthouse Community Church in Torrance, CA. He’s a graduate of The Master’s Seminary (MDiv, ThM) and completed counseling certificate training through ACBC and CCEF. Tim’s passion is to see the grace of gospel-centered counseling grow and thrive in local churches. In this “Getting to Know You” episode, we learn about Tim’s life and ministry.

Kike Torres

Kike Torres is a member of the BCC Council and has served as lead pastor of Horizonte Querétaro since 2011. He is the founder of the Calvary Chapel School of Ministry in México and the Biblical Counseling Center at Querétaro. Kike also writes for The Gospel Coalition and is the founder and president of the Biblical Counseling Coalition in Mexico, which hosts the annual National Biblical Counseling Conference, as well as regional biblical counseling conferences. He is currently pursuing ACBC certification and a MACS at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Paulina, and they have one son. In this “Getting to Know…” episode, we hear about Kike’s life, conversion to Christianity, his introduction to biblical counseling, and about what God is doing in Latin America through biblical counseling.

Jeremy Oliver

Jeremy Oliver is a member of the BCC Council. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Applied Theology at Cedarville University and as a consultant with Soul Care Consulting. Prior to this, Jeremy served as an elder and pastor of Soul Care Ministries at Harvest Bible Church in Phoenix, AZ. He is a certified biblical counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). In this episode, Jeremy shares about the growth of biblical counseling at Cedarville University and how he was brought on to develop the program there.

Scott Mehl (MDiv, The Master’s Seminary; DMin, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is a pastor at Cornerstone Church of West Los Angeles, the managing director of the Institute for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship, a fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, and an author. This episode highlights the Bluegrass Biblical Counseling Coalition, which started in Lexington, KY in 2018 and just had its first meeting of a group in Louisville, KY, in the spring of 2024. Tim Stec helps lead the BGBCC and was a founding member. Dave Kirk is the Pastor of Spiritual Formation at Grace Community Church in North Liberty, Iowa, where he has served since 2009. Before that, he was a pastor in St. Louis, Missouri for 13 years. Dave is the co-founder and has been Director of the Eastern Iowa Biblical Counseling Coalition (EIBCC) since its inception in 2013. Dave has been in full-time ministry for 28 years.
