Peter Sondergeld

Peter Sondergeld is the lead pastor of Restoration Church and founder and chair of Restore Ministries. He served as a director of Biblical Counseling Australia from 2013 to early 2018. Peter is a registered teacher, counselor, and counseling supervisor. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Biblical Counseling, a Master of Education, and a Doctor of Ministry. Peter joins us for this episode to discuss his wonderful book Becoming You: becoming the person God made you to be.

Disability Care Givers & Soul Care

Dave Deuel is a member of the BCC Council. He is Academic Dean Emeritus of the Master’s Academy International and Senior Research Fellow and Policy Advisor for the Christian Institute on Disability at Joni and Friends. In addition to teaching seminary classes and conducting interim pastoral roles, he serves on boards and committees that focus on ministry training and protecting and improving the lives of people with disabilities, including governor’s advisory roles in California and New York. Dave joins us for this episode of 15:14 to discuss the mission opportunities available for disability caregivers. He recently wrote a two-part blog on the topic as well for the BCC mini-series discussing vocational opportunities in biblical counseling. Joy Forrest

Joy Forrest is the Founder and Executive Director of Called to Peace Ministries.  She is the author of Called to Peace: A Survivor’s Guide to Finding Peace & Healing After Domestic Abuse and the Called to Peace Companion Workbook. Joy holds an MA in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been active in counseling ministry since 2005. She has been an advocate for victims of abuse since 1997 and held the position of Community Educator with a local domestic violence agency in the early 2000s. Joy returns to the podcast in this episode to tell us about an exciting new opportunity. Called to Peace Church Partnerships are designed to help churches and church leaders better understand abuse, how to respond to abuse in their churches, and how to care for those who have been abused.

Anchored Hope

Anchored Hope offers biblically grounded, clinically informed virtual counseling to people around the world. Their team of highly trained and vetted counselors help make biblical counseling accessible to many who do not have biblical counselors in their area. In this episode, Rebekah Hannah, Executive Director and Vice President of Anchored Hope, discusses their mission, the vision of providing virtual counseling services, and the vocational opportunities expanded by this model of care.

Spreading Sunshine

Spreading Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that cares for and supports families whose children have a critical or chronic illness. They provide practical and spiritual support to the families through “Sunshine Boxes,” as well as prayer and presence ministry. This episode is an interview with founders Abigail and Louis Sacran. Into the Light

“Into the Light” is a teaching documentary to help men and women move from enslavement to pornography to freedom in Christ. The film includes teaching from Jeremy Pierre, Deepak Reju, Heath Lambert, Jenny Solomon, Ellen Dykas, and Garret Kell. The teaching is interwoven with the testimony of a couple whose marriage was infected with porn and their journey to freedom. Filmmakers Jacob Valk and John-Michael Bout crowdfunded the creation of this resource to make it free for individuals and churches. The Refuge

The Refuge is a residential biblical counseling program to help men overcome various addictions with the power of the gospel and the Word of God. Lou Priolo is the founder and president of Competent to Counsel International and is an instructor at Birmingham Theological Seminary. He has been a full-time biblical counselor since 1985 and is a fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Lou has been married to his wife, Kim, since 1987 and has two daughters, Sophia and Gabriella.

Lakin Brant

Welcome to a new season of 15:14! This season we are making some changes, including the addition of a co-host, Lakin Brant. Lakin is an intern for the Biblical Counseling Coalition. She is currently studying biblical counseling at Boyce College, where she serves on the student leadership board and is a resident advisor. Lakin enjoys serving in her church, especially with her 7th grade girls, flowers, traveling, and line dancing. Lakin won’t be in every episode this season but she will be in many. This episode is a chance for you to get to know both co-hosts a little better.
